Visit Navy Pier - Getting Here

Easily accessible via car or public transportation, Navy Pier offers endless entertainment and attractions to Chicagoans of all ages. No matter what the season, come to Navy Pier to experience timeless natural beauty and lively attractions every day of the year.

Navy Pier is approaching its 100th anniversary in 2016 and that incredible milestone is being celebrated with The Centennial Vision. Navy Pier is currently in the midst of an important project that will reimagine it into a bolder, greener, and more contemporary urban space that will elevate both the stature of the already iconic Navy Pier and the visitor experience for decades to come.

The Centennial Vision design was conceptualized by acclaimed landscape architecture and urban design firm James Corner Field Operations. When completed, the transformation of Navy Pier will include vibrant lighting, imaginative landscaping, unique gathering areas, as well as new Chicago-themed eateries that highlight the city’s exciting, ever-evolving culinary scene.

The current work on The Centennial Vision will occur during two primary construction periods: now through Memorial Day 2014 and Labor Day 2014 through Memorial Day 2015.

Your visit to Navy Pier during this time of exciting reimagination will be minimally impacted. In certain places throughout Navy Pier, convenient and easily navigated temporary walkways will bypass any affected work areas to take you seamlessly from the Family Pavilion on the west end to the Grand Ballroom on the east end and outside to access our year-round cruise boats or other seasonal attractions.

Navy Pier will continue with normal operating hours found here throughout this process and select full-service restaurants, boats and theaters will keep extended hours as their event schedules dictate. The East and West indoor parking garages located on Navy Pier, which can accommodate 1,500 vehicles, are open and easily accessible from Illinois Street and Lake Shore Drive. The realization of The Centennial Vision strives to elevate Navy Pier as a world-class attraction in a world-class city.
