Things to do - Chicago Children's Museum

Chicago Children's Museum Logo
Want world-class fun? Splash, climb, build, learn and explore at the award-winning Chicago Children's Museum, located at Chicago's famous Navy Pier. It's three floors of fun for children (ages 10 and under) and families! Climb on a ship, hide in a treehouse, construct a building, invent a flying machine, dam up a river, drive a firetruck, make art to take home, and so much more. There's always something new and exciting to discover at Chicago Children’s Museum!

Snow Much Fun Snow Much Fun
Now – February 5

Where can you build a snow fort, throw snowballs, dress up a snowman and ice skate…inside? Chicago Children’s Museum, of course! Back by popular demand,
Snow Much Fun, CCM’s much-loved holiday tradition, offers all the frosty fun of winter – without the cold! In Snow Much Fun, you and your family can lose your shoes and practice the perfect pirouette or fancy figure-eight on our indoor “ice” rink. Style-minded children of all ages can deck out a family of snowmen fashionistas, and then build a one-of-a-kind snow fort or castle out of specially-made “ice” blocks. Kids and families can even engage in a friendly “snowball”
fight – no mittens required!

CCM’s ice skating rink will be open daily from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Special hours apply on Dec. 31, when it will be open Noon – 5 p.m.

Circus Zirkus
Where You're the Star of the Show!
February 3 – August 12

Step right up, boys and girls, to the world premiere of Circus Zirkus: Where You’re the Star of the Show! There’s something for everyone in CCM’s newest exhibit experience. Go “backstage” to practice your tumbling, juggling and balancing skills. Then, take to the center ring and wow the crowd as you spin Tricky Plates, show off your dazzling costume and entertain as a clown. Circus Zirkus provides an abundance of props and apparel – including real clown shoes – for hours of imaginative play. Free with museum admission.
