NAVY PIER JULY 4TH & 5TH ADVISORY:

Navy Pier is proud to display fireworks on Friday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. presented by Illinois Lottery and on Saturday, July 5 at 10:15 p.m. With large crowds expected on both days, it is anticipated that at some times on both days, to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, Navy Pier will reach capacity and the gates will close.

Navy Pier Operating Hours

Friday, July 4, 2014
10 a.m. – Midnight
4th of July Fireworks presented by Illinois Lottery at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 5, 2014
10 a.m. – Midnight
Fireworks at 10:15 p.m.



Guests with Reservations/Tickets

All visitors with tickets or reservations are encouraged to arrive several hours in advance of your event start time and allow extra travel time to Navy Pier.  

Ticketed or reserved attractions and restaurants include Afrojack presented by React, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Cirque Shanghai Warriors, Crystal Gardens, Freedom Fest 2014, IMAX Theatre, Mystic Blue, Odyssey, Riva Crab House, Seadog, Shoreline Sightseeing, Spirit of Chicago and Tall Ship Windy. You can purchase a ticket or make a reservation by visiting their websites.

In the case of a closure due to overcrowding, guests with advance tickets or reservations will be directed to a tent located in North Gateway Park where they will receive further instructions.



Parking

NAVY PIER PARKING GARAGES
Navy Pier’s on-site East and West parking garages (located at 600 E. Grand Ave.) accommodate 1,500 vehicles. These garages will fill quickly. To ensure the quickest exit from the garage, we recommend paying for parking at the Automated Pay Stations located throughout the Pier after you park and prior to entering Navy Pier.

DISCOUNTED ALTERNATE PARKING GARAGES
Save time and money by accessing alternate parking garages at Grand Plaza Park, Ogden Plaza Self Park and Millennium Lakeside Garage.* These off-site garages are all within walking distance to Navy Pier and are serviced by either the Navy Pier trolley or special Millennium Lakeside Garage trolley direct to Navy Pier. Guests using these lots should allow extra time for trolley service. Trolley service is subject to availability.

  • Grand Plaza Park (540 N. State) – enter from Grand or Ohio Streets

    Getting to Navy Pier from Grand Plaza Park:
    Board the Navy Pier Trolley from the west side of State Street between Grand and Illinois or on Illinois just east of State. The trolley runs from 10 a.m. – 1 a.m.

    Validating your Parking at Grand Plaza Park:
    Do not pay in advance for parking. Present your parking ticket at the Navy Pier Guest Services desk for validation to receive the $15 discounted parking rate.*




  • Ogden Plaza Self Park (300 E. North Water Street) – from Illinois Street turn right on New Street or McClurg and turn right on E. North Water

    Getting to Navy Pier from Ogden Plaza Self Park:
    Board the Navy Pier Trolley on Illinois Street at McClurg or walk four blocks east on Illinois to Navy Pier. The trolley runs from 10 a.m. – 1 a.m.

    Validating your Parking at Ogden Plaza Self Park:
    Do not pay in advance for parking. Present your parking ticket at the Navy Pier Guest Services desk for validation to receive the $15 discounted parking rate.*



  • Millennium Lakeside Garage – (5 S. Columbus) - on Columbus between Monroe and Randolph


    Getting to Navy Pier from Millennium Lakeside Garage:
    Board the Navy Pier Trolley from East Randolph Street. Look for signs that will provide further direction after parking. The trolley runs from 10 a.m. – 1 a.m.

    Validating your Parking at Millennium Lakeside Garage:
    Do not pay in advance for parking. Receive validation as you exit the Navy Pier-Millennium Lakeside Garage Trolley and return to the Lakeside Garage. Validation will be given at Millennium Lakeside Garage.


    *Subject to availability. $15 discounted offer is valid only at Millennium Lakeside Garage, Grand Plaza Park and Ogden Plaza Self Park garages ONLY on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5, 2014. Must obtain validation in order to receive discounted rate. Navy Pier Guest Services validates for cars parked at Grand Plaza Park and Ogden Plaza Self Park. For cars parked at Millennium Lakeside Garage get validation from Millennium Lakeside Garage. Validation rate provides 12 hours of parking in the Millennium Lakeside Garage, Grand Plaza Park and Ogden Plaza Self Park. Discount cannot be applied to Navy Pier East or West Garages (600 E. Grand Ave.).



Taxi Service

Due to expected large crowds, locations for taxi services may be moved from the stand outside the Pier’s main entrance to Grand Avenue, between Streeter and Lake Shore Drives. Look for signs that will direct you where to hail a taxi.

Trolley Service

Navy Pier & Special Millennium Lakeside Garage (for off-site parking) Trolleys
Trolleys will run 10 a.m. – 1 a.m. on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5, 2014. Trolley service is subject to availability. Guests using the trolley should allow extra time for trolley service. The discounted alternate parking garages (Grand Plaza Park, Ogden Plaza Self Park and Millennium Lakeside Garage) are all within walking distance to Navy Pier.

  • Navy Pier Trolley (Grand and Illinois)
    The Navy Pier free trolley operates between Navy Pier and State Street, traveling on Grand and Illinois, stopping at designated points along the route. Trolley service is subject to availability. Click here for a route map
  • Millennium Lakeside Garage to Navy Pier Trolley
    This special trolley is for guests who park at the Millennium Lakeside Garages. Board this trolley from East Randolph Street (look for signs after parking that will further direct you). Service is direct to Navy Pier. Trolley service is subject to availability.



Guidelines and Code of Conduct

In addition to Navy Pier’s Code of Conduct, and for the comfort and safety of all our guests, it is important to note the following:

  • All bags are subject to inspection. Large bags and backpacks are strongly discouraged.
  • Multiple inspection points will be located throughout Navy Pier.
  • As always, coolers, bikes, skateboards, rollerblades and skate shoes are not allowed on Navy Pier.
  • Outside alcohol is prohibited.
  • No pets or animals permitted with the exception of official service animals.
  • Upon closure, re-entry is not permitted. If you leave the Navy Pier property and the Pier closes, you are not guaranteed access. It is recommended that all parties remain together.
  • No parking, stopping or standing along adjacent streets to Navy Pier which includes, but is not limited to, Streeter Drive, Grand Avenue and Illinois Street.
  • There will be no exceptions made.
