Cirque Shanghai returns to the Pepsi® Skyline Stage® on Navy Pier this summer with the world premiere production Cirque Shanghai Extreme, June 29 through September 5, 2011. Cirque Shanghai Extreme is a spectacle for all ages, featuring acrobatic performers direct from China who are leaders in their craft of tumbling, juggling, balancing and more.
This year's all new production goes to the extreme with new death-defying acts, including a motorcyclist traveling on a wire high above the audience with a trapeze artist performing underneath, new Shaolin Kung Fu sword fighting sequence and the Floating Cube aerial act featuring a 5 ft.-long cube suspended above the stage with artists performing inside. Plus, "Imperial Thunder", China's finest daredevil motorcycle troupe, returns with four motorcyclists performing in Cirque Shanghai's largest steel globe to date.
Performances run approximately 75 minutes with no intermission. Pepsi® Skyline Stage® is a 1,500-seat, canopied, open-air theater on Navy Pier. Performances take place rain or shine.
