Acrobats Balancing on PolesCirque Shanghai returns to Navy Pier's Pepsi Skyline stage Wednesday, June 4 through Monday, September 1 with a world premiere of its new full-scale theatrical production, GOLD. With a nod to this summer's 2008 Olympics, Cirque Shanghai: GOLD features hand-picked performers whose troupe has been honored with Gold awards in international circus and acrobatic competitions. Their signature style combines time-honored Chinese acrobatic wonder with fast paced production elements, dazzling contemporary visuals, Broadway choreography, cirque-style costumes and thrilling music.

Featuring family-friendly ticket prices and "close to the action" seating, Cirque Shanghai: GOLD has been created in partnership with International Special Attractions, Ltd. (ISA). This summer it will be seen nowhere else in the world but at Chicago's Navy Pier.

Founded by Haiping Ge and Michael Wilson, ISA is the first company dedicated to two-way entertainment presentation between China and the U.S. The company has a long history of working with Chinese acrobatic troupes starting in 1996 and is now the largest presenter of foreign entertainment into China as well as Chinese entertainment and attractions into North America. Ge is a graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Wilson grew up in show business alongside his father Mark, host of the 1960s television show "Mark Wilson's Magic Land of Allakazam."
